Marilyn Hickey, American televangelist and minister, rose to fame in the mid 1930s as a pioneering Pentecostal known for her daily Bible teaching. According to her ministry website, her program reached over 2 billion households worldwide in addition to her presence on “Today with Marilyn.”

On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, however, Hickey’s address and impact were updated to Heaven. At 94 years old, Hickey was admired for her faithful service to the Lord. She not only dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel but also to praying with those in need.

Immediately following her passing, her ministry pointed to Matthew 25:23 in light of Hickey’s eternity: "Though we mourn this loss, we find peace in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord and her ministry will continue for generations to come. Please join us in praying for her family and loved ones during this time. 'Well done, good and faithful servant' (Matthew 25:23)."

According to Hickey’s daughter, Sarah Bowling, Marilyn had dedicated over 6 decades in 130 countries to preaching the salvation message and ministering to the poor and helpless. Teaching the Bible around the globe, she worked with those of diverse religious backgrounds, including Muslims and those in Egypt and Pakistan.

Seeing faith as a process, Hickey never gave up. “[She knew that] faith is a process,” [though we tend to] “want answers in 24 hours.” For 19 years, Hickey prayed for ministry doors to open in Ethiopia, and in 2002, they did. God opened doors she’d forgotten she’d prayed to open, and over 40,000 people were ministered to. This is just one of many examples of her work across the globe.

Though Hickey has moved on to her eternity, her ministry has left a legacy for many to follow.
