Mary Silvestri, a 92-year-old woman, tries out for the Rockettes after missing the audition 80 years ago. The Rockettes made Mary’s dream come true after they gave her the opportunity to try out for the team. Once they learned her story, they knew they had to make it happen. Mary has a passion for dance and kept it alive all these years. It was one of her God-given talents.

Mary shares she had a dream of trying out for the Rockettes over 80 years ago, but she couldn’t get transportation to New York. The vision of being a Rockette was then gently tucked into the folds of her heart until the opportunity unfolded to watch the tryouts years later. She had no idea the world-famous dance company would let her try out. She merely came to watch but along with 800 other women, Mary rose to the challenge and made her way through tryouts. 

She addressed the judges and other auditioners, “80 years ago, I supposed to be here doing what you’re doing,” she said. I couldn't get to New York alone, and no one could take me," she explained. "So here I am today to see you ladies and hope you all make it."

You will love watching this uplifting video watching a woman’s 80-year-old dream come true. Surprisingly God’s word doesn’t tell us to pursue dreams but to pursue him instead. 

The beautiful thing about pursuing God is he gives us more than we could ever dream of. When he does fulfill our dreams, it is never what we expected and it usually exceeds our expectations. We serve a mighty God who is the best gift giver because he intimately knows each and everyone one of us. 

Now, Mary’s story is being heard by millions and reminding us all it’s never too late nor are we too old to do something we love.

It may be a hard lesson to master, but during a recent episode of Better Together, Nicole C. Mullen reminds us to trust in God’s Timing. Check out this excerpt from the show for several pieces of wisdom from the ladies.

Many watch The View, The Real, or The Talk, but TBN’s Better Together offers advice for Christian living from faithful women. This 11-minute clip features wisdom from four of the five women on set. The hosts and guests on this episode are: CeCe Winans, Nicole C. Mullen, Kalley Heiligenthal, Beth Redman, and Brooke Ligertwood.

After a quick flash from later in the video, CeCe Winans reflects on the feeling many women have that we must protect ourselves—that if we don’t, perhaps no one will. CeCe remarks that we are in error when we put things on our backs that God never intended for us to carry in the first place. 

It’s Nicole who speaks next about the burdens that we foolishly bear. God wants us to take things off our list. And, he wants us to rely on His strength rather than ours. Too many times, we make life harder than it needs to be by trying to handle too much, too alone.

Kalley weighs in next, sharing her own experience as someone who has at times missed out on the joy that comes during the process of getting to a goal or destination. She describes herself as someone whose tendency is to “bulldoze” to and through things in her life. And, in doing so, she’s at times missed out on the opportunity to commune and depend on Jesus along the way.

Our goals should be not merely ours. According to Nicole, they should be supported by our Heavenly Father. While she has a few personal goals, ultimately, she desires to satisfy God’s will for her life. And CeCe comments that it’s important to hold on to our plans and dreams “loosely,” allowing always for God’s will to be done.   

While we often think our steps or actions get us to where we want to be, Kalley has learned that the accomplishment of plans and goals have everything to do with how God orchestrates events and situations. Our plans are small, rarely reflective of what He alone can accomplish. 

We often make the mistake of setting up timetables in our lives. We think we can control when things happen in our lives, when our dreams come to fruition. Nicole says that’s where we really go wrong. Beth concurs, saying that she has repeatedly found disappointment and heartbreak when she’s tried to force the big moments of her life to take place on her schedule.

The segment closes with a few moments of wisdom from Nicole. She encourages viewers to allow God to bring us through a process of maturation as we wait for our longings to be realized—or better yet, the blessings He has for us. Assuring us that beauty is found when we exchange our schedules for His far better ones, she reminds viewers that without doing so, our lives will be like a cake that is “gooey,”messy, and half baked. Jesus gets it done to perfection!   

These truths, shared in 11 minutes, are the things women need to hear. These words of encouragement are far more impactful and potentially life-changing than the latest gossip or heated debate. Thank you, TBN, for the community you provide and the Better Together program!

Two very recognizable people mentioned how much prayer means to them in a video posted to social media.

Hollywood is not a place or an industry where people often discuss religion or share their faith in Jesus Christ. Instead, normally those in the spotlight – actors, actresses and singers – avoid the topics of religion, faith and Jesus Christ altogether. 

However, Hollywood actor and A-lister Mark Wahlberg has never been a person to shy away from his faith. He has continually made comments about how big a role faith plays in his life and how he spends time each day in prayer.

In a video posted on Mark’s Instagram page, the “Transformers” star is joined by fellow actor, Mario Lopez. In the short clip, Mark and Mario walk in the frame and stand in front of a giant and beautifully decorated cross.

Mark says that he and Mario, “his brother in Christ” and “brother in life,” are about to go to church so that they can stay “prayed up.” Later, Mario says they’ve “got to build the spiritual muscles.”

The video, which is only a few seconds long, ends with Mark looking at the camera and informing his followers to “stay prayed up.” He also adds, “God bless you,” as they both walk out of the frame. 

So far, the video, which was posted on April 23, has been liked more than 600,000 times. 

It is refreshing to see someone who is so visible and recognizable as Mark Wahlberg, who has been nominated for two Academy Awards, be so open and honest about his faith. 

Despite many in his industry doing otherwise, Mark has always taken the other route. He routinely shares his belief in God and in the power of prayer during interviews. 

Philippians 4:6 “In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

A man came out of nowhere to rescue a child who was headed toward a busy California street.

People do have the ability to inflict pain and hurt on one another. However, they also have the surprising capability to display great kindness, care and concern. Whenever there is a natural disaster or some other catastrophe, people are quick to donate food, money and clothes to those impacted. 

One, exhibiting great concern and care for his fellow man, sprang into action and saved the life of a young child in a runaway stroller. 

In a clip posted to YouTube, a child in a stroller sits to the left of a vehicle with both doors on the driver’s side open. A woman stands at one of the vehicle’s open doors.

Seconds into the clip, the stroller starts rolling backward, away from the woman. The stroller, with a child strapped in, is headed toward the busy street in Hesperia, California. 

The woman in the video immediately notices the runaway stroller. She takes a few steps in the stroller’s direction but falls to the ground. She tries to regain her footing but does not get far before tumbling again. The whole time the stroller gets closer and closer to the road.

The stroller is mere feet from entering the roadway before a Good Samaritan darts in from the right side of the screen and catches the stroller. 

The man grabs, turns and then pushes the stroller back to the fallen woman. As this is happening, a second man appears on screen, who helps the woman to her feet. 

The man who saved the child’s life and the woman embrace as he brings back the rescued child.

That man is a true hero in every sense of the word. He literally saved a life with his actions. 

Hebrews 13:16 “But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

Check out this sweet child piano prodigy have his dream come true when he realizes that he will be performing a duet with his idol CeCe Winans. His reaction will have you smiling from ear to ear!

Jude Keyz is a young piano prodigy who was recently on The Kelly Clarkson Show. And Kelly shared about the talented boy and what he has been up to lately with her music director.

“It’s been quite a journey for Jude since we first met him at the start of this year,” Kelly Clarkson shared. “My music director, Jason Halbert, has totally taken him under his wing cause we fell in love with him. And they’ve been working hard on creating an original song that matches Jude’s vision.”

Jude shared with Kelly that he wants to do music professionally, and he hopes to write songs for people one day. And after seeing his kind and charismatic personality on the show, it is no wonder that Kelly and her staff fell in love with the special young boy.

So Kelly’s music director, Jason Halbert, headed out to Jude’s home in Colorado to really see him in his element.

“I wanna write about hope and faith,” Jude shares with Jason during their first lesson. And when he was asked about his favorite artist, Jude had no hesitation in saying that he loved CeCe Winans.

Later, Jude was back on The Kelly Clarkson Show with his dad, Isaiah, and proud mentor, Jason. And he was given a huge surprise!

Jason let Jude know that CeCe Winans has invited Jude to come out to her concert and play piano with her on stage! “Woah! So exciting! I would love to play with her!” Jude exclaimed with a huge smile on his face.

What a wonderful experience that will be for this talented young piano prodigy!

One couple, who had experienced a devastating and tragic loss, stepped up and changed the lives of others.

Loss, hurt and heartache impact everyone at one time or another. Unfortunately, no one will be able to escape this life unscathed. Sadly, pain is inevitable. However, Mark and Lynn Scotch, who lost their young son many years ago, literally donated a part of themselves to keep others from experiencing pain and loss.

Mark and Lynn’s life-saving kidney donations started in a Louisiana bar. While in the establishment, Mark struck up a conversation with another gentleman: Hugh Smith. 

They became fast friends, but as the video posted on YouTube points out, Hugh had to cut the conversation short. It was time for Hugh to undergo his dialysis treatment. 

Hugh needed a kidney. It was then that Mark made a startling offer. Mark told Hugh he’d give him one of his.

“I never really expected to hear from Mark again,” Hugh admits.

But Mark got to work, researching how to donate a kidney. He then learned of a voucher program through the National Kidney Registry. 

Mark donated a kidney, which went to the person who was the best match. Then Hugh received a voucher, due to Mark’s donation, which moved him up the long waitlist. Hugh then soon received a much-needed kidney. 

However, that is not the whole  story!

Lynn, Mark’s wife, moved by her husband’s selfless and loving act, began looking into kidney donation also. She soon came across a young child, Cooper, in desperate need of a kidney. 

Lynn, who also went through the kidney voucher program, gave her voucher to Cooper and his family. The young boy, who had been on dialysis since he was 8 months old, received a new kidney!

On Today, Mark and Lynn were reunited with Hugh, Cooper and his family. There was not a dry eye in the entire room.

“Honestly, it was all surreal,” Hugh said. “I really couldn’t believe that it was happening. So, what Mark did made me certainly believe that there is such things as Godsends. And he is definitely mine.”

John 15:13 “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Two rail workers stepped up and sprang into action when they spotted an unusual sight on the tracks: a 3-year-old child. 

For parents, the happiness and safety of their children are and always will be some of their biggest concerns. But no matter how much children are instructed to avoid a person, an area or to not touch an object, children do not have the best track record when it comes to adhering to commands. Children always want to push the boundaries and see what happens when they refuse to listen.

One child, for whatever reason, ended up in a dangerous area in New York City. He had found his way onto a set of active train tracks. But thankfully, someone spotted the child before anything tragic took place.

In a video posted to YouTube, a 3-year-old sits near a fence, just to the left of an active and electrified set of train tracks. The man driving the train, who first spotted the child, slammed on the brakes. The locomotive was moving at nearly 70 miles per hour!

“As soon as I saw it was a child, I instantly, daddy kicked in and we gotta save this kid,” William Kennedy said. 

Another train conductor, coming from the other direction, also spotted the stranded child. In the video, a train conductor runs out to meet the child, who was touching an electrified track. 

The child was quickly moved to safety and brought onto one of the trains. About an hour later, the little guy was reunited with his mother. 

While the child was reportedly touching an electrified track, he suffered only minor injuries. He only sustained a splinter!

Thank God for those quick-thinking and acting New York City-area train workers, who rescued the child, keeping him safe and from a tragic ending. 

Psalm 37:39 “But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.”

One very recognizable person is praising the Lord after battling and surviving cancer.

Cancer is a scary and frightening word. Receiving a cancer diagnosis from a trusted medical professional is enough to send even the most steadfast and stoic person reeling. Not only will it rock the patient’s entire world, but such a diagnosis will also rattle the lives of family and friends. 

Earlier this year, entertainment reporter and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Maria Menounos learned that she had Stage 2 pancreatic cancer, according to a clip posted on YouTube. This diagnosis came after she previously had a benign tumor on her brain removed. 

In the interview on Today, Maria sat down with Hoda Kotb for an emotional conversation about her frightening health journey. Hoda also mentioned an interview Maria did with People magazine in which Maria says, “God granted me a miracle.”

In her conversation with Hoda, Maria went into great detail about how she eventually learned she had pancreatic cancer, her and her husband’s tearful reactions and how she began questioning God.

Thankfully, despite her scary diagnosis in January, Maria is now cancer free! She is now praising the Lord for his work, claiming she is the recipient of several miracles. 

“I feel so blessed and so grateful because I’ve been given so many miracles,” Maria said. Like, I’m so, so blessed.”

Following her bout with cancer, Maria stated that God has given her a new mission in life.

“And so my mission is to help people listen to their bodies and learn how to listen to their bodies,” she said. “And I’m so grateful that God shifted me into this health space with my show and with everything that I do now.”

At the end of the interview, Maria, who has gone through a series of health issues, stated that she is thankful and grateful for what she has been through. She praised God for using her and her experiences so that she may benefit others. 

“I’m grateful that I’m in this position,” she said. “I know God made all this happen for me to be able to help other people.”

What a wonderful and awesome testimony!

Psalm 77:14 “You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples.”

A loving and devoted teacher was repaid for all her effort and received the surprise of a lifetime.

Teaching is a noble profession. For the most part, it is made up of dedicated educators who give of themselves, selflessly pouring their time and talent into the next generation. Teachers play a huge role in millions of young lives every single day. 

Lori Anne Travers, a kindergarten teacher, is one of those dedicated educators. She loves her job and the children she has the honor of educating. She confessed she would go to great lengths for her students. 

“Teaching is a dream job for me,” Lori Anne said in a video posted to YouTube. “I would go through fire for these children. They mean absolutely everything to me.”

Lori Anne goes the extra mile for her children. However, before teaching, Lori Anne dreamt of performing on Broadway, wowing crowds with her talent for the arts.

Now, she uses her love of the performing arts to help her teach the students. But little did she know that she was going to get a chance to perform on Broadway after all.

A Broadway actor, one of the stars of the hit musical Aladdin informed her that she was going to be on Broadway. Lori Anne would be on stage, taking part in a real, live production. 

The look on the dedicated teacher’s face, when she was informed about her upcoming Broadway debut, was one of stunned silence. She was momentarily rendered speechless! 

But later in the clip, after rehearsing with the musical's stars, getting her costume and undergoing makeup, she stepped out onto the stage!

This teacher lived a dream! What an awesome way to give back to someone who is so dedicated to her students.

Check out this jaw-dropping moment when a mama elephant saves her baby from a crocodile!

There are mama bears, mama lions, and tiger moms, but they have nothing on this ginormous mom elephant determined to save her little one!

Mom and calf are enjoying a dip. Mom stands near the edge of the small, muddy pool, and her baby lounges at her feet. They’re in an Indian Forest somewhere near Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, which is where Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanta is stationed.

As the video begins, we can hear the soft sounds of the forest, and all is well until the 10-second mark. That’s when Mom realizes that they are not alone in the water, and she’s not interested in sharing the space—certainly not with a toothy, cold-blooded predator! 

We see the crocodile pop up from the water just as Mom charges in, determined to destroy the reptile. Her young charge quickly takes cover underneath her. The calf knows that there is no safer place to be than literally under Mama!

While the crocodile is fierce, it’s no match for a protective and very large parent. The croc slithers its way out of the pond and away from the massive stomping feet of the enraged elephant whose trumpeting echoes the extent of her fury! 

There are lots of expressions about the passion of mothers. We know it’s generally not smart to “mess with mama.” That’s a warning for kids, typically. Most moms don’t like to be toyed with. But that’s even more true when the offending party is messing with a mom’s kiddos!

We, human moms, understand the intense love for a child, but God equipped many, perhaps all, of His creation with the instinct to protect their offspring. Our Father knew precisely how to create us all. Every single one!

Take a listen to this struggling young woman’s story about a Trader Joe’s cashier who made her day, surprising her with a bouquet of flowers just when she needed it most!

It may sound like an advertisement for Trader Joe’s, but Danielle Blakey’s TikTok video is perhaps an advertisement for kindness, thoughtfulness, and attentiveness. Those are three traits demonstrated by the employee who rang out Danielle on a recent bad day.

Danielle explains that she’s had a couple of really hard days, and she’d stopped into the store to pick up a few groceries, her cupboards and refrigerator bare. As she recounts the story, Danielle’s eyes are wet with tears, and her face is red. She shares that while she usually does a good job of hiding her emotions, she wasn’t that day. Although she wasn’t crying at the register, she was visibly down and sad, and the cashier noticed it.

The video includes a couple of subtitles. In the second, Danielle describes herself as “a pleaser,” so we understand when she says that she felt bad for not being friendly and responsive to the gentleman in the lane. While he’d tried to make conversation, she just wasn’t in a state of mind to do so.

As the transaction neared completion, Danielle grabbed her credit card to pay. The cashier excused himself for a moment, but the young woman didn’t think much about it. When he returned, though, the cashier brought Danielle a lovely bouquet of spring flowers—a bunch of purple and pink kindness!

Danielle reports that she completely broke down. Overwhelmed by the caring gesture, Danielle sobbed and bawled and is praising Trader Joe’s and its employees. She didn’t get the name of the kind mister that gave her the flowers, but she extended an emotional word of thanks via TikTok to the cashier that served her at Trader Joe’s Dallas-Greenville location.  

Some viewer comments indicate that Trader Joe’s intentionally fosters a culture of kindness, empowering and encouraging their employees to attend to customer needs beyond the expected. Whether this particular individual was trained well or raised well, we don’t know. However, Danielle, who normally posts about dating and relationships, may consider advising her followers to be looking out for a Trader Joe’s type of partner!

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12

How life changed when I moved to Werribee, for the worst but grateful for it at the same time.....

When we feel discouraged, we turn to the Good Book and pray for God’s comfort. This passage was brought to life when King David hears Psalm 77 in a powerful clip from season three of ‘The Chosen.’

In a powerful wrap-up of Season Three of the hit show, King David is seated on his throne as he hears the Psalm of Asaph. As the words are read aloud to music, the show highlights the triumphs and the struggles many characters on the show face. 

In a beautiful and moving way, the Psalm reveals how God is with us through the good and the bad. It reveals God’s character, strength, sovereignty, love, and grace for those who love him. It makes the words of the Psalm come alive. As the Psalm progresses, the writer remembers God’s “wonderful deeds of long ago. He’s reminded of the great things God did in the past, including the deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. 

This beautiful Psalm begins with the writer in distress and heartbreak until we see him exchange his despair for praise, beginning in verse 14: "You are the God of great wonders!" The Psalm then ends not in celebration but focused on God’s faithfulness to those who love him in a statement of remembrance: 

Yet, Psalm 77 ends not with a celebration of God's faithfulness or with a statement of confidence in him, but simply with a statement of remembrance: "You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.”

This Psalm is an example of our humanity. From the author of the Pslam to King David, and even our own experiences–Psalm 77 reflects our emotions, our struggles, and why faith is vital in hard times. 

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds,” Psalm 77:11-12. 

One Hollywood legend was moved to tears following the premiere of his latest film.

Harrison Ford is an icon in the entertainment world. He has appeared in several beloved films throughout his decades-long and very successful career. He was Han Solo in the always-popular “Star Wars” films, was in the science fiction classic “Blade Runner” and even had a turn as brainy CIA analyst Jack Ryan in a couple of flicks. But his most memorable character and role by far is as the incomparable and whip-cracking Dr. Indiana Jones.

In “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” Ford says goodbye to the character he first brought to the screen over 40 years ago. This film will be his last go around as the world-renowned archeologist who always seems to get into trouble. 

The last Indiana Jones film starring Harrison Ford recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in France. After the conclusion of the film, Harrison was treated to a warm and loving reception by his peers. They gave him a rousing and heartfelt 5-minute standing ovation, according to Today.

The audience's applause for Harrison hit him square in the heart, causing him to react emotionally. As a video posted on social media shows, Harrison began tearing up, his eyes noticeably red. 

With tears welling up in his eyes, Harrison blows a kiss to someone in the balcony and gives them a thumbs up. He then turns and acknowledges the standing ovation, giving a wave to the crowd.

It’s nice to see that Harrison playing Indiana Jones has meant as much or more to him than the people who love the film franchise. 

The Oscar-nominated actor has given audiences plenty of quality entertainment over the decades. But most can easily agree that Indiana Jones is his best and most beloved character and role. 

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.”

A child sprang into action, saved the day and kept many people safe when he grabbed the wheel of a school bus after the bus driver experienced a medical episode. 

It has been said that “adversity does not build character, it reveals it.” If that’s the case Dillon Reeves, a 7th-grade student in Michigan, has a ton of character.

Dillon and his classmates were on the bus heading home after a day at school. It was just like every other average school day. But then things took a turn for the worse. 

The clip posted on YouTube shows the woman driving the bus undergoing a medical episode. The driver can be seen using her hat to fan herself and then gets on the bus’s radio communication system and asks for help. However, she then passes out as she goes limp behind the wheel. Her head and body bounce with every hole and bump in the road. 

The bus had started to head in the direction of oncoming traffic. That’s when Dillon stepped up and took charge. The video shows the young man grabbing the wheel and pressing slowly on the brake. 

The young man was able to bring the school bus to a complete stop without any injuries!

“This was an extraordinary act of courage and maturity on his part,” Dr. Robert Livernois, the school's superintendent, said. “He had the wherewithal to push it slowly, likely in anticipation that the bus was full of passengers.”

Following the incident, Dillon’s mother, Ireta Reeves, was stunned by her son’s heroic actions. But she did have questions for the young man.

“I asked him, ‘Dillon, how did you know what to do? How did you know how to drive that bus?” she asked. “And he said, ‘I watch her do it every day.’”
