The O'Donnell's Family Band's Gospel Bluegrass Audition of 'Edge of Glory'

You don’t want to miss this gospel bluegrass audition of the song ‘Edge of Glory’ performed by The O’Donnell family band on The Voice!

The pop song ‘Edge of Glory’ is by Lady Gaga, but The O’Donnells put their own unique spin on it. And their rendition is one that definitely caught the judges’ attention!

But it was not just their unique audition and wonderful music that stood out. The littlest family band member, 3-year-old Amy, also gained a lot of attention. The audience couldn’t stop gushing over her when she came out on stage at the beginning of the performance.

The other judges on The Voice were unable to turn their chairs around for the audition because their teams were already full. Except for Judge Keith Urban!

Keith eventually pushed his button for the singing group and got The O’Donnell family band on his team!

“First thing is, you have turned a Lady Gaga song into a gospel/bluegrass number, which is going to turn any chair to begin with,” he shared with the family.

Then he told The O’Donnells that little Amy is the youngest performer on any Voice stage in the world, ever!

Many people online shared their thoughts about this family band’s audition and how wonderful they thought it was.

“This family was absolutely astounding! Beautiful people, stunning vocals, amazing harmonies, ridiculously good instrument playing and of course the absolute cuteness factor of the youngsters helps as well! And to top it off, they have the perfect coach!” comments one person on YouTube.

“Wow, this family has it all going on,” another person writes after watching the video. “So happy Keith turned for them.”

We hope you enjoyed this upbeat and fun version of ‘Edge of Glory’ with a gospel/bluegrass twist by The O’Donnells and it was able to bring a smile to your face today!

Teen Sings Inspiring Rendition Of 'Wind Beneath My Wings'

Listen to this inspiring rendition of the song ‘Wind Beneath My Wings' performed by this talented teen.

“It must have been cold there in my shadow to never have sunlight on your face
You were content to let me shine, that's your way, you always walked a step behind
So I was the one with all the glory, while you were the one with all the strength"

What an incredible cover of this iconic song! And the beautiful girl with the wonderful voice in this video is Lucy Thomas. Lucy is a 17-year-old who lives in England, and she was a Semi-Finalist on The Voice Kids in 2018.

The song ‘Wind Beneath My Wings' was written by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar. It has been recorded by many artists throughout the years including Bette Midler for the 1988 film "Beaches."

"A beautiful face without a name for so long, a beautiful smile to hide the pain
Did you ever know that you're my hero and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle for you are the wind beneath my wings”

“This song has a lot of meaning to me,” writes Lucy in the caption of her YouTube video. “When I sing ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ I think of all the people who have supported, encouraged and been there for me...you are the wind beneath my wings.”

Many people online have shared how much they love to hear Lucy sing and how her songs bring them so much joy.

“Lucy, there are not enough words to indicate how you light up the world with your singing. Thank you,” writes one person on YouTube after watching the video.

“A good singer is not just someone who can sing, but they must be able to interpret the feeling of the song as well, something that Lucy does every time,” another person comments.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to Lucy Thomas today and her rendition of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings' was able to uplift you in some way.

Inspiring Romans Bible Verse Reminds Us That Nothing Can Separate Us From God

Do you need some encouragement today? Check out this inspiring Romans Bible verse that reminds us that nothing can separate us from God.

In this theatrical video, we hear Romans 8:35-39 read in the background with the words on the screen. Behind the words, we see clips relating to the concept of who can separate us from the love of God. It starts with a mother holding a baby.

Then there is a moment where Jesus is carrying the cross and clips of difficulties in life. There are birds flying through the cloudy sky together. In the midst of the honesty about the hardships of this sinful world and following Christ, the message of hope is shared. “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

The verse goes on to share the various things that could separate us, but because of Jesus, they cannot keep us from the love of God. How do you feel persecuted, separated, or isolated today?

The Lord can give you all that you need in Him. He is walking with each of us on our best and worst days. We cannot ever be removed from His love.

God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us on the cross and He defeated death.

Jesus rose so that we could live in freedom. Romans and this video remind us that life is not always easy, but the unchanging love from God is constant and we can be confident in that.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake, we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:35-39

After 12 Years Apart, Brothers Share A Tear-Filled Reunion

It is one thing to be away from family for a while, but to be apart for over a decade is painfully difficult. In this video after 12 years apart, brothers share a tear-filled reunion.

This clip will bring out all of the emotions. Someone is videoing following a man who is going into a restaurant. It seems like any other evening, however, he goes up to the chef in the restaurant and greets him. The chef comes around the corner and the two grown men embrace and sob in each other's arms.

The girl who is recording the video shares that the clip is of her father and her uncle. They had not seen each other for 12 whole years. Her uncle moved from Argentina to Spain when he was only 18-years-old.

The uncle now owns a pizzeria and his family surprised him at his restaurant in this video. The men are unashamedly sobbing tears of joy and holding on to each other after so long. It is a beautiful picture of reunion and family.

This short, yet powerful clip reminds us of how our reunion will be with God one day. As believers, we know that we will be with the Lord again and the troubles of this world will end. When we see Him face to face, I imagine that there will be tears of great joy and hugs with our Savior Jesus. He has made a way for us to be in Heaven.

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place[a] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,[b] and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:3-4

Maryland Officer Heroically Saves Student from Car that Raced Thru Crosswalk

Watch this video to see a Maryland police officer in Cecil County heroically save a student from a car that failed to stop at a school crosswalk.

In the video, the officer puts her hand up to signal to the approaching vehicle to stop. The student then starts to run across the street. But as the officer looks over at the car, she realizes that the driver is not stopping.

That’s when the police officer has to act quickly. She grabs the child out of the car’s way and falls to the ground while getting hit by the car herself. The car comes to a halt and the driver comes out of the vehicle to check on the officer that she just hit. Other people that were nearby and witnessed the event run over to help.

The officer in the video that helped save the student is Corporal Annette Goodyear. After she was hit by the oncoming car, she was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. Thankfully, she is expected to be okay. And the student that she saved from being hit by the car was not injured at all.

“Amazingly enough, and just speaking to her character and sense of community we have here, she actually went back to the school and checked on the little girl,” said Danielle Hornberger, Cecil County Executive.

The driver that failed to stop at the crosswalk was cited for several traffic violations, while Corporal Annette Goodyear was awarded for her heroic act.

“I will be awarding a citation to Annette Goodyear for her heroism in putting herself at risk to save a young student from being hit by an oncoming car,” said Governor Hogan.

Thank goodness this officer was there to save the day! God bless Annette Goodyear and others in her line of work that put their lives on the line to serve and protect their communities!

A Cappella Men Of Home Free Sing 'Unchained Melody'

Enjoy the a cappella sounds of Home Free as they perform the beloved tune, ‘Unchained Melody.’

This love song was a hit for The Righteous Brothers back in 1965. The classic song was even inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. Decades later, it still remains one of the most famous love songs of all time.

“Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly”

Home Free is an American a cappella group that competed and won in the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. They’ve become viral sensations with their covers of hit songs such as ‘Ring Of Fire’ and ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Though some of the members may have changed, the incredible music and sound remains the same. Currently, the group is comprised of Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance.

Today, these five men are reminding us of the power of love with the classic song ‘Unchained Melody.’

Just listen as they belt out these words that we all know and love.

“And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me”

I hope you have a special person in your life to dedicate this special song to.

John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

Camera Captures 2 Hippos Battling In River

Photographer Emily Whiting captured quite a stretch of footage when these two hippos began battling in a South African river!

To the average person, this may appear to be horseplay between two gentle giants. It may even look amorous. But once you realize just how much power exists in the mouths of these creatures, you understand that it’s much more!

Here are a few numbers that will provide a proper perspective. Adult hippos can open their mouths to between 150 and 180 degrees, essentially creating a straight line with their jaws. They can do the splits with their mouths! The bite force of a hippo is approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch—twice that of a lion or tiger and ten times that of an adult human! And, those dagger-like teeth sticking up from their bottom jaws are probably about 1.5 feet in length!

Clearly, with those oral statistics, this is fighting for these big fellas!

With that insight, watch as the bigger two of this foursome go literally head-to-head. The smaller ones crowd in close initially, but as the confrontation continues, they pull back and leave this business to those most equipped. Each of the fighting hippos tries to clasp their jaws over their opponent’s. Neither can quite do it.

We hear the sound of teeth and bone connecting and crashing, but no skin appears to be broken. Though, Hippo hide looks pretty thick!

The closer hippo definitely gains some watery ground, forcing the one facing the camera further into the water. But, the camera-facing fighter is almost able to leverage his giant mouth and get atop the first. The battle raged on for over an hour, giving tourists at the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve quite a show. Emily is also a field guide for safaris.

Indeed, this is not horseplay, but the word “Hippopotamus” does mean “river horse.” An average horse weighs roughly one ton or 2,000 pounds, but these “horses” top out at 4 tons!

Sometimes, we just need to know a little bit more for things to be clear. Occasionally, our perspective is “off.” It’s a great thing to have the ability to seek and find answers that help us to bring our world better into view—for images by Photographer Emily and so very much more!

“So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:21

Man Sings Classic Hymn Jesus Shall Reign' on His Couch

Enjoy this short video as one man, from the comfort of his couch, applies his unique perspective to the singing of the classic hymn “Jesus Shall Reign.”

The message of the hymn is eternal and unchanging; however, the rendering of the song may be as individual as the person sharing it!

Here are the first four lines of “Jesus Shall Reign.”

Jesus shall reign where'er the sun

does its successive journeys run,

his kingdom stretch from shore to shore,

till moons shall wax and wane no more.

The song dates all the way back to the early 1700’s, and it has likely been sung in countless ways. Here, “Workman Song” is the artist, and his version is unpretentious, folksy, and simply beautiful!

Workman Song, (a.k.a. Sean McMahon) plays an acoustic guitar as he sings. He looks directly at the camera briefly at the start of the video, and he then begins without introduction or production.

Sean may be reading the lyrics, but he seems to understand and embrace the message that he’s delivering! We catch a smile on certain lyrics as it peeks out from under his mustache, seemingly reflecting the joy the words convey!

Viewers might notice the home’s decor and momentarily speculate about the artist—whether he’s an outdoorsman or a collector, but it is the song, delivered with serenity and sincerity that is impossible to ignore!

Sean ends with a lovely 15-second guitar solo, and you might notice the cross tattoo on his left pinky finger. When his song is finished, he looks up and gives the audience an unassuming silent farewell.

While the video doesn’t seem like a performance at all, Sean and his wife, Siren Mayhew, are both musicians. They did regular facebook concerts when the COVID-19 pandemic kept so many people at home, during which viewers got a taste of the incredible range and diversity of Sean’s talent.

It’s wonderful that today’s artists of faith reimagine special hymns from long, long ago. Thank you, Sean McMahon, for doing that with “Jesus Shall Reign.” If you’d like to hear a more traditional performance of the hymn, take a listen to this one posted by TheHymnClub.

“The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 146:10

Bibles And Hymn Books Miraculously Remain Intact After Church Fire

A church went up in flames, but two things remained: the Bibles and Hymnbooks.

God gives, God takes, and God also protects. This story is truly miraculous. Bibles and hymn books miraculously remain intact after a church fire. We know God is the God of miracles. But sometimes we forget or stop believing that he is still making miracles happen today. In this instance, it was a fire at a church.

A 100-year-old church caught fire, and no one knows the cause just yet. Investigators suspect arson and we are all aware we have an enemy out there who will do anything to instill hopelessness and fear. But the members of the St. John’s Methodist Church in California refused to let this fire bring them down even though it broke their hearts.

One church member Georgetta Blunt said she received a text that her beloved house of worship was on fire, “I just froze,” she said. It took more than 70 firefighters to put out the flames.

When the congregation gathered after the fire, Georgetta and her church family dug deep into their faith and decided to hold services in the parking lot the very next morning. Despite the fire, they praised the Lord for what they did have. They thanked God no one was hurt and they praised God that the church building was still standing.

Later, they learned they had more to be thankful for; a miraculous discovery found in the ashes comes hope. All the Bibles and hymn books remained intact. Not one of them burned. Talk about the supernatural power of God, right?

This church will rebuild from the ashes because God is for them, so who can be against them? Even though it will take months to rebuild, the church will continue to hold services in the parking lot and they don’t mind one bit. They have a physical reminder that God will protect us through the fire and through the flames.

“When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;” Isaiah 43:2-3

3 Young Boys Rewarded by Complete Stranger After Helping Elderly Man Off Bus

Watch these young boys do something so unexpected, it will make your jaw drop but then something unexpected also happens to them. Three young boys are rewarded by a complete stranger after helping an elderly man off the bus.

If only a chain reaction of kindness, encouragement, and compassion could happen in the real world! Oh wait–it just did in this video posted to TikTok. Three boys were walking along the sidewalk of a busy street when they encounter an elderly gentleman in front of them.

This elderly man has just gotten off the bus. His walker had been wheeled to the sidewalk with his belongings. It was apparent he was frail and in need of assistance. Instead of walking by him and assuming someone else might come along to help, the boys immediately began helping the elderly man. They gathered around him to ensure he wouldn’t fall and helped assist him to his walker.

Most would have assumed once he had his walker, he would be fine. But these three sweet boys noticed he was having a hard time maneuvering the walker and keeping his belongings from dragging on the ground. They proceeded to pick up his bags and secure them in place before the man began shuffling away.

These three boys didn’t seem to think their actions were a big deal. They saw someone in need and helped out. But it’s so rare to witness acts of kindness which is why this video was not only recorded but what happens next is astonishing! Another man witnessed the whole event and he had to stop by the boys to reward them for their kindness.

In the video, the gentleman tells them they had done a good thing and to never stop being kind. We agree, we hope these young boys will remember the moment they had done something out of the kindness of their hearts and that it began a chain reaction. It pays to be kind in more ways than one.

Not only does God see it, but so does everyone else.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
