This song is inspired by the Christmas season and Mary’s perspective as the Mother of Jesus and also a recipient of his saving grace. You can call it an atypical Christmas song. Historically, Christmas is a holiday when people spend time with loved ones and also share gifts. This song, on the other hand, does not focus on the commercial nature of the season but on the reason for the season from Mary’s perspective. As a Mother, I have great expectations for what my children would become in the future. As I reflect on the birth of Jesus, I can only imagine what I would feel knowing that my son who is also the Son of God was born for the sole purpose of painfully dying to save his people.
