Werribee Pt 3

Between 14-18 living in Melbourne Western Suburbs and the life of drugs and crime began.....

Your Story Matters

Living in today’s world can be tough, with nearly every kind of distraction and temptation threatening to tear us apart. And we've all had our moments of despair. But could your story be exactly what someone else desperately needs to hear?

One organization, Focus on the Family, is committed to creating and delivering Christ-centered content intended to help guide and strengthen families as they navigate through life’s many storms and challenges. And they want to hear your story.

Life is not always an easy experience, especially for a family trying to live according to Christ’s words and teachings. Troubles and problems seem to have a knack for visiting everyone at one time or another. Such situations and trying times can send even the most ardent and committed follower of Christ reeling and searching for answers.

As the clip perfectly illustrates, family problems and issues can crop up at any time. These problems can lead to hurt and wounded feelings among siblings, spouses and even between a parent and a child, putting a strain on these most important and foundational relationships.

Understanding that life can often be burdensome and tricky to maneuver is why they want to help by providing “trusted guidance to strengthen the foundation of Christian families.”

Focus on the Family’s daily broadcast has four crucial areas of ministry in which it focuses its attention: marriage, parenting, life advocacy and faith and culture. Listeners can send in thoughts, ideas and issues for consideration to be covered in future broadcasts.

After you submit a story, their team of folks read every one of them. And they use a lot of factors to choose the ones they think will heal the most hearts.

Each week, Focus on the Family’s broadcast reaches a combined total of more than 6 million listeners either “through radio, online, or with the Focus app.”

As the video mentions, the listener’s needs and wants are at the heart of the broadcast and the broadcast-creating process.

“Every episode is created with you, our listener, in mind,” the video states. “That’s the heart of Focus on the Family, helping families thrive in Christ.”

Focus on The Family is an organization that has been working to spread the message and love of Jesus Christ around the world through a variety of communication channels since it began in 1977.

After 1,954 Days In Foster Car, 5-Year-Old Is Finally Adopted

A child who had spent years in foster care now has a loving forever home to call her own.

Children are a blessing from the good Lord above. They do come with increased levels of stress, worry and anxiety. But children also add plenty of joy and love to parents' lives. While some who seek to become parents may have issues conceiving, there are other avenues to becoming a mom or dad.

There are plenty of children in need of good, safe and loving homes in the world. Many children are simply waiting to be adopted, to have a mom and a dad.

Cindy and Jeffrey Moore are two people who badly wanted to become parents but encountered infertility issues. But that didn’t stop them from adding Cece to their family, even though it may have taken years to make it permanent.

In the video posted on YouTube, Cindy mentions that Cece came into their lives when she was just two months old through the foster care system.

“Once we saw her cute little face, we jokingly told them, ‘If you need a place long-term, let us know,’ Cindy said. “And the next day, they said, ‘Yeah, you know, actually, if you’re serious about it, we could really use a long-term placement for her.’”

Years later, after 1,954 days, the Moores finally became Cece’s mother and father.

“You know, here we are, over five years later and that long-term placement has now become a forever home for her.”

Cece isn’t the only child the Moores have adopted, according to the video. They have adopted two other children and Cindy stated that she and Jeffrey are now in the process of adopting Cece’s biological brother.

What a beautiful and loving family! God bless Cindy and Jeffrey for showing love and kindness to children in need of homes.

Best of luck to the Moore family!

Actor Michael J. Fox Shares Inspiring Wisdom About Living With Parkinson's

“With gratitude, optimism is sustainable.” Actor Michael J Fox shares inspiring wisdom about living with Parkinson’s. The disease has wreaked havoc in Michael’s life, but he seems to take every day in stride.

We all know him as time traveler, Marty McFly in the hit series films of Back To The Future, and we fell in love with him at Alex in Family Ties. Perhaps his most admirable character now is who he is in real life. He manages to face a terrible disease with grace, gratitude, and optimism.

He sat down for an interview with Jane Pauley of the Sunday Morning Show to talk about how he navigates life with Parkinson’s when he gave some excellent advice we can all use. “With gratitude, optimism is sustainable.” He added, "That's the point, I recognize how hard this is for people, and I recognize how hard it is for me. But I have a certain set of skills that allow me to deal with this stuff. And I realized, with gratitude, optimism is sustainable. And if you can find something to be grateful for, then you can find something to look forward to, and you carry on."

For years Micheal has dealt with the terrible disease that causes tremors, muscle rigidity, twitches, and slurred speech. But he still holds his head high and finds a way to keep the joy in his heart. Where did he find his resilience? He says from his mother, who was an army wife.

Looking back, he recognized the gift of her mother’s strength and her positive perspective. She seemed to take everything in stride which Michael now uses on a daily basis. Sometimes a minute-by-minute basis on some of his worst days. She left her son with an incredible perspective and tools to navigate dark days.

Michael J. Fox knows his days are numbered, as are all of ours. But he plans to make the most of his earthly time through his positive attitude, gratitude, and perspective. And when the Lord does call him home, Michael will be free of this debilitating disease.

"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast," 1 Peter 5:10.

Judge Pays For Man's Fines After He Walks 5 Miles To Court With No Money To His Name

A judge pays a man’s fines after he walks five miles to court with no money to his name. It could have been easy for Daniel Murray to blame his problems on life circumstances. Instead, he took responsibility for his own actions, and in his humility, he was given a gift.

Daniel is no stranger to parking fines. In fact, he had seven of them. He showed up to his court date a little out of breath and visibly sweating through his shirt. He was respectful to the judge and accepted the consequences that led to all of his parking fines. The total cost of his fines was $250, which Daniel didn’t have. Then Daniel asked a question, “Is there any way that this can be deferred for a little bit? I’m in a little bit of a financial situation,” he said to the judge.

The judge then asked Daniel what he could pay today. That’s when he learns Daniel has 92 cents to his name and walked five miles to make it to court on time. The judge realized Daniel could use a blessing. The judge then says, “I got a letter this morning from a man named Frank J. Demacio. He wrote, “Now I am on unemployment due to a conflict, but I am enclosing this to add to your fund.” The judge then went on to explain he started the Filomena Fund, which was named after his mother. The funds are used to help people in dire financial situations like Daniel’s.

Frank sent in $25.00 in cash, and the judge wanted Daniel to use it for an Uber. Daniel was blessed and humbled. At first, he felt like he didn’t deserve it, but the judge insisted on blessing Daniel with a small gift. But then the judge abundantly blesses Daniel. He used the Filomena Fund to cover all of Daniel’s fines and to get his car back too!

You can tell by the look on Daniel’s face and his demeanor he felt it was undeserved but he was grateful. Before Daniel departs from the court, the judge asks him to pay it forward and show kindness to someone else in need. Kindness is like that. When we show mercy, kindness, and compassion to someone, it is then abundantly multiped and creates a ripple effect in your community. Let’s this judge as a kindness compass that points us to someone in need of help. What an inspiring story!

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you,” Ephesians 4:32.

And Inspirational Video about the Prodigal Son

Principal’s Husband Surprises Her With Flowers At School Dance

One man, whose wife is a high school principal, used her school’s prom as an occasion to give her a sweet surprise.

For high school students, proms are a big, big deal. There are tuxes, fancy and expensive dresses, after-parties and sometimes even limousines. Within the last couple of years, simply asking someone to prom has become an event. Promposals, where people come up with elaborate and extravagant ways to ask someone to the annual dance, have exploded in popularity.

A video posted to social media may not be the most elaborate promposal in the world, but it’ll still melt your heart. In the video, a man wearing a tux stands off to the side of a set of double doors and holds a bouquet of flowers. Seconds into the short video, a handful of people appear, likely they know what is coming and want to witness the sweet gesture.

Then a woman pulls the door open as the high school principal, the man in the tuxedo’s wife, walks through the door. She thought she was simply on hand to chaperone the fun-filled night for the school’s juniors and seniors.

However, she’s immediately surprised by her husband with the flowers. It’s clear from her reaction that she is taken aback by the touching display of emotion from her obviously loving husband.

The two exchange words, but between all the oohing and awing from bystanders, it’s impossible to pick up on any part of their conversation. They eventually share a loving embrace.

Before the video concludes, someone directs the happy couple to “turn this way” in order to capture photos.

What a sweet, kind and loving gesture from a thoughtful husband. Hopefully the happy enjoyed their night with plenty of dancing and food.

1 Peter 3:7 “You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.”

College Softball Players Give All The Glory To God In Viral TV Moment

The clip of three University of Oklahoma softball players mentioning their faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ when asked how they play the game has gotten a ton of attention.

Sports, particularly college athletics, are often high-pressured and filled with moments or plays that can make or break an entire season. The competition at the NCAA level is fierce, with everyone seeking to gain an advantage, within the boundaries of the rules, of course.

However, three members of the University of Oklahoma softball team explained how and why they don’t let the pressure of big moments get to them. In a clip posted on YouTube, the young women stated that they understand that softball is not the end all, be all.

The 4-and-a-half-minute clip begins with an ESPN reporter asking one of the players, Grace Lyons, how she keeps the joy throughout an entire softball season. The young woman, in her answer, cited the one, true and only source of joy: Jesus Christ.

“Well, the only way that you can have a joy that doesn’t fade away is from the Lord,” Grace said. “And any other type of joy is actually happiness that comes from circumstances and outcomes.”

Another player, Jayda Coleman, chimed in and agreed with her teammate’s response.

“One thousand percent agree with Grace Lyons,” Jayda said.

Jayda added that their team is able to stay and play relaxed on the field because winning or losing a game does not define them.

“Yes, obviously, we worked our butts off to be here and we want to win,” Jayda said. “But it’s not the end of the world because our life is in Christ and that’s all that matters.”

Alyssa Brito added that she understands trophies are nice, but Earth is not her home. She said she knows Heaven, with her Father, is her home.

“No matter the outcome, whether we get a trophy in the end or not, this isn’t our home,” she said. “And I think that’s what amazing about it is, we have so much more. We have an eternity of joy with our Father, and I’m so excited about that.”

Two days after these young ladies spoke so moving and openly about their faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they would go on to win the Women’s College World Series.

For King Country Reflect On Their Grand Ole Opry Debut

One of the biggest acts in Christian music today thinks about their first time headlining at the Grand Ole Opry and their journey - professionally and personally – to that point.

For most musicians, playing at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, is a monumental step in their career. Some of the biggest names in music ever had headlined shows at the venue in the Volunteer State. Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn have all thrilled audiences at the Opry.

The historic venue continues to attract some of the biggest names in music, including For King & Country. In a video posted on YouTube, the pair of Grammy-winning brothers – Joel and Luke Smallbone – talk about what it meant to headline at the Grand Ole Opry and also their lives growing up.

The short clip begins with the two musicians pulling into the Grand Ole Opry’s parking lot and peering at the sign on the building, which read, “RESERVED: FOR KING & COUNTRY, GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT, AUGUST 12, 2022.”

Joel admitted that headlining at the venue is a big moment for the brother in terms of their career and their lives.

“It’s a complex moment for us now, Opry debut,” Joel said. “Because we have already some really monumental memories here, which is just magical by the way.”

The clip cuts to a portion of their show, where Joel addresses the audience, mentioning their first time headlining the auditorium. He likens it to taking a big step in a relationship.

“We have played this stage for award shows and Christmas shows,” Joel said. “At this point, it’s like, it’s like we’ve been dating and tonight, we got married.”

Next, the guys and their parents discuss their tough, lowly beginnings both in their native Australia and moving to The United States, settling in Nashville, Tennessee.

David Smallbone, the guys’ father and manager, articulates how far they have all come since those early days.

“Here we are 30 years later, we’re still here,” David said. “And we came over here basically penniless. Probably the most difficult financial time of our life. And that was the start of the children learning to work together. Cleaning houses, mowing lawns, raking leaves.”

It's amazing to see how far this immensely talented brother duo and their family have come since their humble beginnings. What a terrific story of perseverance, grit and determination!

James 1:12 “There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God’s approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.”

13-Year-Old Hero Saves Sister From Attempted Kidnapper With Slingshot

A teenager in Michigan successfully protected his younger sister from a potentially horrible situation without even throwing a punch or firing a gun.

The world is often a dark, dangerous and deadly place. Headlines and stories fill entire websites and news broadcasts about sick and deranged individuals shooting, killing and harming others. There are individuals who seek to inflict suffering and pain on innocent people, even little children.

One young man, 13-year-old Owen Burns, sprang into action when he witnessed someone trying to abduct his 8-year-old sister in a wooded area behind their house, according to a video posted on YouTube. But instead of firing a gun or using his fists, Owen went the David versus Goliath route. He used a slingshot.

“He shot with a marble one time, and then it was with a rock the second time,” said Lt. Derrick Carroll, a member of the Michigan State Police. “Both shots striking the suspect, once in the forehead, once in the chest. He took off running through the woods.”

Owen’s mother, Margaret Burns, said that her son successfully hit the suspect from a great distance: 200 feet.

Margaret was grateful for her teenager’s heroic, David-like actions.

“Just happy we were able to celebrate her eighth birthday that Saturday after,” she said. “I mean, we could have been celebrating a funeral.”

Thank God Owen was paying attention at that time, sprang into action and had the presence of mind to use what is commonly thought of as a child’s toy to protect his sister.

Much like David in 1 Samuel, Owen used a rock and slingshot to take down and defeat the enemy.

1 Samuel 17:49 “David put his hand in his bag, took a stone, and slung it, and struck the Philistine in his forehead; and the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.”

Kelly Clarkson Surprises Incredible Organization Teaching Kids Outdoor Skills

One of the biggest names in music today stunned a philanthropic organization in the Charlotte, North Carolina area with a generous monetary donation.

The good Lord truly is an artist. The great outdoors is brimming with evidence of His wondrous works of art. The vast oceans, a breathtaking sunset and a striking, colorful sunrise are just a few examples of God’s artistry. However, technology's ever-growing and pervasive presence often keeps our faces glued to the screen instead of taking in all the beauty that lies outside.

One organization is trying to change that, showing kids that a whole world resides beyond the iPhone and Android screen. Camping with Cradle founder Keith Cradle appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and discussed the aim and mission of his organization.

“Well, I just love the outdoors and I know you do, too,” Keith said. “But so many kids here in Charlotte just don’t have that opportunity. And so, we created Camping with Cradle to provide that outlet and that opportunity to get them backpacking, camping and hiking.”

Later in the segment, Keith mentioned to Kelly that all the camping equipment and the outings are provided to the children completely free of charge.

“That’s the whole reason why we do it,” Keith said. “We want to bridge that gap when it comes to access and inclusion in the outdoors and so all the outings are free. And for kids that go backpacking with us, they have an opportunity to keep that gear.”

Before the interview ended, Kelly surprised Keith with a $1,000 donation to his organization to show her support for all the good Keith is doing for the kids of Charlotte.

Dad Writes And Records Emotional Father-Daughter Dance Song

One father used his musical talent in order to create a heartfelt and touching memory during his daughter’s wedding.

Weddings are emotional experiences for nearly everyone involved. Yes, they are beautiful occasions where two people come together and vow before God and their family and friends to be together for the rest of their lives. But wedding ceremonies are also events that mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in life.

One father showed love and care for his little girl when he created and recorded an original song for their father-daughter dance. By the end of the clip, it’s hard to imagine there was a dry eye in the entire room.

The clip begins with the bride’s mother on the microphone. Mom talks about the importance of the father and daughter dance and how significant a moment it is in both of their lives. Mom also lets her daughter in on a few surprises during her speech.

First, the daughter learns that her selected song – “My Girl” by The Temptations – would not be played. Her father felt it “was OK” but wasn’t really happy with it. Instead, he wanted a track unique to them and their relationship. Since he couldn’t find the perfect tune, her father wrote one and recorded it for that moment.

Instead of a hit from The Temptations, the father and his little girl danced to the original song, “I Love You More Than That.” Before the music even starts both have tears in their eyes. What a wonderful and beautiful moment!

As the camera pans around, guests look on as the two take center stage on the dance floor. The tears continue to fall from the father of the bride and his little girl. It’s a moment that both will remember for the rest of their lives.

Ephesians 6:4 “You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

Driver Captures Rare Bison Stampede On Camera

Some people were privileged enough to see an extraordinary and breathtaking sight at a popular national park in the United States.

Animals are astonishing beings, who never fail to impress with their actions, their uncanny ability to feel, express emotion or just because of their sheer size. The Lord knew what he was doing when he created and put animals on Earth. Their presence is another way the Lord has blessed and enriched our lives.

A video posted on YouTube showed a handful of visitors at Yellowstone National Park were witnesses to a scene that appeared to be right out of a movie. Someone captured an entire herd of bison stampeding across the landscape.

The massive animals gracefully sprint down a nearby hill, onto a road and up the roadway, right past the individual filming the bison. Mixed in with the large, full-grown beasts are smaller, baby bison.

At one point in the video, the camera is turned toward the hill as the animals make their way down. When you think there couldn’t possibly be any more coming, more of the massive animals scurry down the hill. The scene is so unusual and rarely experienced that it almost doesn’t even look real at times.

Funnily enough, the wild animals also seem to possess a “live and let live attitude.” At no point during the nearly one-and-a-half-minute clip do any of the dozens of animals interact with the park visitors. Sure, some of them appear to look at the camera, but they all go along their way. They have some place they are all headed and simply want to be left alone.

What an awe-inspiring little clip of the majestic and beautiful beasts!

2-Year-Old Remembers Being Held By Jesus While Unconscious In Pool

After a near-death experience, a young child revealed to his parents that Jesus held him during the frightening moments.

Courtney McKee, Max’s mother, said her child told her that while in a swimming pool, and after nearly drowning, he was not afraid. Christ was with him at that moment.

“He looked at us one day, and he said, ‘When I was in that pool, I wasn’t scared.’ And we were like, ‘That’s great, buddy.’ And he said, ‘When I was in the bottom of that pool, Jesus held me.’”

It’s only natural that, after becoming a parent, fears, worries and anxieties would increase considerably. Parents want nothing but the best for their children. But the world is a sad, dangerous and terrifying place.

However, in July 2019, for Brandon and Courtney McKee, their worst possible fears became a frightening reality. Brandon and Courtney had dropped off their two boys – Brody and 2-year-old Max – at Courtney’s mother’s house for a few days. But the next day, Courtney received a call no parent ever wants to receive.

Max was at the bottom of his grandmother’s swimming pool. The 2-year-old was not responsive after being removed. After emergency medical responders were called and while CRP was performed on the child, Brody reached out to someone else for help.

“The only thing I could do was pray,” Brody said. “So, I dropped on my knees and I said, ‘God, can you help my little brother? Can you just save him? Can you put your guardian angels around him, Lord?’”

As the video posted on YouTube mentions, Max was revived and quickly transported to a nearby hospital. The next 24 hours were going to be crucial for Max.

“He was having a hard time breathing and every minutes matter when our brain lacks oxygen,” said Dr. Marvin Mata. “It can have some profound effects. It can cause memory issues. It can cause learning disabilities. And the most worrisome would be brain death.”

Brandon and Courtney did the only thing they could do at that point: pray. But they weren’t the only people who reached out to the Lord on behalf of Max.

“Our pastor came, tons of friends who are prayer warriors came and they just surrounded his bed and we grabbed hands and we prayed,” Courtney said. “We just brought down the power of the Lord that day.”

Courtney and Brandon did not have to wait long for their answer to all those prayers.

“The next morning, Max showed signs that he was Max again,” Courtney said. “And I knew immediately there was no neurological deficits and Max was going to be OK.”

In the days following the traumatic, near-death situation, Max told his parents that Christ was with him and held him while he was in the swimming pool. Max even described his hands and feet.

“He had bobos and scratches on his hands and feet,” Max said.

The young man is 100 percent clear on what happened to him in the pool that day.

“I’m Max and I’m a miracle,” he said

Julie Andrews Shares The Joys Of Her Friendship With Carol Burnett

Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett are Hollywood icons who have enjoyed decades of success, and who also happen to be great friends.

Having close friends and confidants is another in a long list of ways God blesses and enriches our lives. Friends are invaluable people who can pick you up when you’re feeling down and out. They are also brave enough to tell us the truth even when it may be hard to hear.

Actress Julie Andrews has found that kind of friend in fellow actress Carol Burnett. In a video posted to YouTube, Julie talked about her friendship with the legendary comedian, which has spanned decades.

The “Mary Poppins” actress stated that her friendship with Carol, especially in a place like Hollywood, “is a great gift.”

“I can’t imagine that I would be so lucky to have a friend like that,” Julie said.

Julie, who starred in the classic “The Sound of Music,” described her and Carol’s friendship as “being-once-in-a-lifetime.” She also stated that Carol is an “a-once-in-a-lifetime” type of person.

All good friendships involve massive amounts of trust and care, which Julie and Carol seem to have in abundance.

“I trust her completely, as a friend, as a performer,” Julie added. “And her talent is just so unique.”

The blessing of friendship can add so much joy and happiness to life. They are also someone who can be counted on when times are tough.

And you are not the only person Carol has kept rolling with laughter all these years. Julie confessed that Carol, who recently turned 90 years old, has had her in stitches for quite some time.

“Well, just about every week, for gosh sakes!” Julie said. “I was glued to the television and just amazed at her courage, her talent, her truthfulness. She’s the best of the best.”

‘Thank You, God’ Grandpa Cries After Hearing Granddaughter’s Big News

Upon hearing that his grandchild had gotten into medical school, a grandfather was overcome with emotion.

Grandparents are one of God’s many blessings in life. They are a spring of knowledge, wisdom and love, adding to the lives of those around them. Most grandparents also have the urge to constantly spoil their grandchildren, showering them with toys, candy and money. You’re not likely to hear any grandchildren complaining about this kind of treatment.

However, this time it was the grandchild who returned the favor, treating her grandfather to a bit of good news. A video posted to YouTube shows a grandfather’s sincere, moving and touching reaction after learning that his granddaughter had gotten into medical school.

The video shows the elderly gentleman sitting in bed as his granddaughter kneels beside him in order to surprise him with her big news.

“I have really big news for you,” she tells him. “I got into medical school.”

The woman’s grandfather is instantly overcome with emotion after her big announcement. He also praises the Lord for giving his grandchild the opportunity to further her education and career in the medical field.

“Thank you, God,” He responds. “I’m happy to hear that. You are our legacy.”

Later in the video, the young lady explains how she and her family wanted to surprise him with the news. They waited a few days after she learned she had been admitted so they could tell him in person.

Her grandfather remains overjoyed by the news, the young woman reports.

“But he was over the moon,” she said. “He still calls me about it, like, every single day.”

Most grandparents are extraordinary and loving people who want nothing more than to see their grandchildren succeed and experience happiness in life.

Best of luck to this young woman as she begins her medical career journey!
