Presence Music and SAPHIRE have teamed up for the release of “Mess of Mine,” a heartfelt new Christian country single available now.
Written by Leah Monson and produced by Tyler Moody, “Mess of Mine” gives voice to the hidden battles many people carry behind closed doors, including depression, anxiety, loneliness, and the pressure to tell the world, “I’m fine,” when life feels anything but.
With warm Christian country instrumentation and emotionally transparent storytelling, the song does not offer quick fixes or easy answers. Instead, “Mess of Mine” creates space for listeners to feel seen while pointing them toward the hope that God does not wait for people to have everything together before drawing near.
“This song came from wanting to be honest about the kind of struggle people often hide - the messy house, the messy mind, and the days when you say you’re fine but you’re not really fine,” says Leah Monson of Presence Music. “My hope is that listeners feel permission to be honest with God in those places and remember that He is not afraid of the mess. He sits with us in it and holds what we cannot.”
The single captures the emotional tension of unfinished responsibilities, overwhelming days, and the quiet ache of trying to keep life together while struggling internally. Yet beneath the honesty is a message of grace: healing may be a journey, but no one has to walk through it alone.
“Mess of Mine” continues a season of momentum for Presence Music, a Duluth, Minnesota-based worship collective led by husband-and-wife duo Brandon and Leah Monson. Represented by Aligned Talent Agency and Kingdom Impact Group, Presence Music has built a growing national audience through touring, festival appearances, and collaborations with artists including KJ-52, Stephen Christian of Anberlin, Jason Lancaster, and 7eventh Time Down.
The band has also supported artists such as Ryan Stevenson, Stars Go Dim, Dan Bremnes, and Love & The Outcome while appearing at major Midwest festivals including City on the Hill, ThriveFest, Hills Alive, and Bound for the Kingdom. Their music has received editorial support from Spotify’s Christian Alt, Air1, K-LOVE, and GMA Dove Award New Release playlists, while their recent single “Found in the Hurt” surpassed one million combined streams and video views.
SAPHIRE brings her distinctive voice and heart for authenticity to the collaboration. Known for honest songwriting and a passion for revealing the heart of God through music, SAPHIRE has shared the stage with artists including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, We Are Messengers, and Cochren & Co.
“I was honored to be a small part of Leah’s song ‘Mess of Mine’ because mental health awareness has always been a topic I am passionate about,” says SAPHIRE. “This song encapsulates the ups and downs of life - the beautiful and the hard - and I think it’s good for others to hear that it’s okay to sit in the messiness of life.”
Together, Presence Music and SAPHIRE offer more than a song with “Mess of Mine.” They offer an invitation to anyone carrying unseen burdens to stop hiding, breathe again, and remember that God’s grace is present even in the places we would rather cover up.
