Bullied Teen Douglas Mills Overcomes Fear To Stun The Judges On American Idol

Talk about being a humble inspiration to others! Bullied teen Dougal Mills overcomes fear to stun the judges on American Idol.

Douglas had been treated his entire life. Because he grew so tall so quickly, peers would take jabs at him. In fact, because he was bullied so much when he was younger, he didn’t even think he was worthy enough to audition for American Idol. All three judges were touched by his story and couldn’t wait for him to perform his song choice, Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday.

Douglas never dreamed he would ever set foot on the stage of American Idol. But his school applied for him to audition after they heard him sing and perform in class. And the heart-touching part of his story is that he never thought he would ever have the opportunity to leave the state of Texas. You see, he lived with his single mother who worked hard to make ends meet.

Between the bullying and living in poverty, Douglas didn’t think he was anything special, nor did he believe he had the gift of singing until his school surprised him with a ticket to audition!

Douglas shared that music eventually became a way to heal his soul. And what an incredible journey of healing he has been through!

The emotion and how well he carried the notes blew the judges away. Not one eye in the room was dry. By the time he finished the song, he had a standing ovation from all three judges. At one point, the judge Katy Perry offered him a beautiful comment when she said his voice and his talent transcends time and space.

One viewer commented, “His voice, storytelling ability while singing, and beautiful personality will take him far. Love how they embraced him at the end.”

Another added, “From the moment that first note came from him, in just the word “sent”, I was completely transfixed. Full body goose flesh, I nearly cried, because I’m just so blown away!”

Another viewer posted, “He’s a sweetheart. Bless him; bless his mother. So happy he arrived on this day to feel his own wings. They are clipped no more. Bless the judges for embracing him as they did. His talent .. his gift .. speaks for itself.”

We certainly couldn’t agree more. Through God’s healing hands, Douglas was able to take the pain and channel it into his music. Despite his heartache, Douglas never gave up! What an incredible soul we got to witness. We hope his story brightened your day and gave you a little more faith in our amazing God.

<p>Kim Hale has some serious and sassy dance moves. When she posted the video to Facebook, she admitted she was nervous even though she’s been dancing her entire life. But Hip-Hop was something new she wanted to try despite her age. She said, "Nonetheless, aside from letting my hair go white, this was the best decision ever and has truly changed the way I walk through the world.” </p>

<p>The video shows Kim not only has younger performers dancing with her but a crowd of onlookers as well who were thrilled to see Kim “pop and lock” a few dance moves after a mere six months of learning Hip-Hop. Dressed in a black and white jumpsuit accompanied by a beautiful and bright smile, she reveals a few hot dance moves! And not surprisingly, the video went viral with over 150,000 views and hundreds of comments. Her love of dancing and the fact she is revealing that getting older just goes to show how fun life can be. </p>

<p>A viewer commented on the video with this post, “U go girl silver is now a rage of the younger ones.” And the rest of the comments included just how awesome Kim dances to “Wow.” And I think we can all agree, Kim is absolutely awesome, fun-loving, and has some wicked moves! </p>

Kim just goes to show, age is truly a number and there's nothing better than “Shaking what the good Lord gave you!” </p>

The type of music she created is called “Throat Singing” which she explained to the judges after winning them over with her performance. </p>

<p>She tells the judges that she has been singing since the age of three and fell in love with Opera. Learning to sing Opera was a brutal experience but she absolutely loved it. She was born in Russia and grew up in Canada before settling in Italy to study music. When she heard about Italy’s Got Talent, she couldn’t help but audition. And we are so glad she did!</p>

3-Year-Old Irish Dancer Is A Star In The Making

In this precious video clip, we see pure cuteness. A 3-year-old Irish dancer is a star in the making.

As the video plays, we see a recording of sweet young girls in dresses, high socks, and dance shoes. They are standing on a pier overlooking the water while dancing Irish Step.

It is finally time for three-year-old Zoe to take a turn to shine, and she does just that. This little lady comes up front, confidently kicking her legs and tapping her feet in very advanced ways. Her teammates behind her who are much older clap and cheer her on.

It seems almost unreal that someone as small and new to this world can be so incredibly gifted. However, God can bless someone with natural abilities however He desires and this young one is clearly gifted. She has a special talent and it is undeniable.

Maybe you are not an Irish Step prodigy, but the Lord has also given you at least one way to shine for Him. Whatever He has gifted you with is ultimately for His glory.

Consider chasing after Christ in the midst of your talent or skill and worshiping Him with it. As we view this young girl dancing her heart out at such a young age, it inspires us and reminds us that there is a God and He is an incredible Creator. He is for us and no matter if we feel too young or too old, we are never disqualified from praising Him with our lives.

<p>In this clip, we see the words, “my baby’s first shot in a game, what a moment.” A girl is passed the ball at the foul shot line during a play, she squats and shoots with all of her focus. As she makes the basket, she screams with joy, and the crowd cheers. </p>

<p>Suddenly, the girl’s mind is no longer on the game, but she is focused solely on running to her father. He unashamedly runs towards her onto the court and he picks her up and hugs her. She sobs beautifully in his arms and they take a special moment between the two of them.  </p>

<p>Then, the dad puts the daughter down and pats her on the back and she runs back to the court in tears to rejoin her teammates. She has a hard time pulling herself together because she is so joyfully overwhelmed by what she just accomplished.</p>

<p>We have no idea how much this young woman practiced or dreamed of making her first hoop in a basketball game, but clearly, her father was an encouragement to her and she felt compelled to run to him, not caring about the game, but about the man who loved her well.</p>

<p>In our faith, we are all given unique opportunities to “shoot hoops for Christ.” When we have those victorious moments in our skills or ideas, may we never forget to run to our Father and thank Him and give credit where it is due.   </p>
